Great evening. Vibrant interesting menu, impressive flavours, relaxed friendly service. Can't knock it. We'll be back soon hopefully.

Amazing food, drinks and service. The staff couldn't be more helpful and we barely had a wait between courses. Unbelievable flavours, great wine and cocktails and gorgeous setting. Mizu never disappoints and I highly reccomend.

The food was absolutely fantastic, we thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience at Mizu. The menu is large but with a little help from the waitress we ordered exactly the right amount & all varied too. Everything was delicious and unforgettable dining experience Thank you!

The food was all very enjoyable. The service and atmosphere were terrible. 20mins late getting our table. From the moment we sat down to the moment we left, we felt rushed and uncomfortable. It's basically Asian tapas, I asked if we could get each course gradually, to which I was told they were very busy and it would come when it was ready. All the courses came at the same time, it couldn't fit on the table. Dishes were cold by the time we ate them. When ordering we asked if we could change the ice cream on our dessert, we were told no adjustments can be made as they were very busy. A restaurant can pace the bookings to provide the kitchen with time to serve each table. They have chosen to turn tables over quickly at the expense of the customer experience. This is fast food, with fine dinning prices. Such a shame.

What can I say... simply sensational from start to finish. I was welcomed with great professionalism and via smile by the lovely gentleman who I believe is South African. When I sat in my seat I could sense it's out from the kitchen every single one of them extremely passionate about their job. This made a Hollick's variance fun and authentic. When the food arrived I personally ordered the lamb shank Rogan Josh which was beyond sensational, I even asked who would cook this dish to give Kudo is to the chef I believe his name was Nicky Scott. I will travel here again. Coming all the way from Chester I believe it is worth it.

This place has a big issue with the food, it's well presented but lacks flavour and seasoning. The ramen was very bland, the gyoza was cold. The Sri Lanken fish curry was ok but had no depth to it. It was like you hadn't eaten anything 10 seconds after a mouthful. The service and staff is good which earns the 2 stars and in fairness they did reduce our bill quite a lot when we mentioned the issue with the meal. Wouldn't recommend, especially as there are plenty of decent restaurants nearby in Keswick which are also far cheaper.

Can I just start by saying SO NICE WE HAD TO COME TWICE! Me and my partner came to the Lake District for a week for my birthday and one of our highlights was visiting this little gem of a restaurant! We loved it SO much the first time we had to come back again on our last night. The staff couldn’t do enough for us and nothing was too much hassle. The cocktails (mainly the mango daiquiri) were to DIE for. And the food was INSANE! We had 3 different starters both times we came and each were a mouth watering taste of their own... as for the mains just INCREDIBLE! If you’re in the area and are looking for a restaurant to melt your taste buds this is it!!!! Could not recommend enough. If we came to this part of the Lake District again we would be certain to visit again. WOW WOW WOW YUM YUM YUM!

Hands down this is the worst sushi I have ever had the misfortune of eating and paying for! The quality of the fish was so poor, I’m certain I have experienced better from supermarket-bought sushi. The sushi rolls were so inedible, we ended up having to return three plates and I had to dispose of the chewed content from my mouth to my napkin - if forced to swallow, it would have come back up instantly. The taste and texture were so unpleasant, I have truly never experienced anything like it. The fish was warm With a stale fishy flavour (not sure if it was proper sashimi grade fish they were using) and everything had a stomach-churning chewy texture. I think anyone who chooses to eat out for Asian food and sushi will expect a reasonable standard, particularly given the cost - but this not only didn’t live up to price tag, but in fact was horribly inedible. The restaurant is situated in a fancy 4* hotel and truthfully, I cannot imagine that we are the only diners to have returned food. I cannot emphasise enough how much I DO NOT recommend this restaurant. Pros: The decor and ambience were nice, and the staff were reasonably friendly.

When you walk in, look around at the decor and menu, the similarity with Sticks n Sushi is uncanny, but that’s where it ends. The shake is over priced and underwhelming. Poor choice if you know what you’re looking for and for newbies, I don’t see anyone ordering seconds. £15-20 for 125ml is not good value, (£9 ish in London) and for a couple, you would easily want around 750ml (ish) to enjoy during the meal. The sashimi was served slightly below the room temp, which was about 22*C, so had obviously been left out in the kitchen too long. The bowl of ice it was served on clearly for decoration and the point of it being clearly lost on the chef preparing it. The prawn sashimi used in the nigiri and sashimi mix plate was cheap and made me think it was not prepared on site (looked like a piece of shrimp from a Tesco sushi snack, tasted like it too) The lamb rack was perfectly cooked but personally I think had too much teriyaki sauce on it, personal preference so wouldn’t knock it for that, the 4 mayos were ok, but again, I think it was flavoured mayo and the mayo wasn’t made on site from scratch. Tempura shrimp were very nice, that’s where the single star was earned. Gyoza and the Bao bun were fine, nothing wrong with them, but it’s a shame that “nothing wrong with them”is the best compliment I can give The sushi rolls, what can I say, I tried one piece of each that came out and my reply to my partner was, the middle one is the least revolting. It was so bad she expelled her piece into her napkin. I chewed each one like it was a Bon Bon, cautiously, nervously and expecting at any moment to break a tooth. We sent them all back. They were all tempura coated rolls but served cold and so the tempura had gone soggy and hence chewy. Staff were nice and no issue. Service was below par, no one asked us if we wanted another drink at any point, in fact they all stayed away, including the manager, after we returned the sushi rolls. I could see the chef looking arguing with the waiter when we returned them. I really do not recommend this restaurant to anyone. It’s truly an awful example of Japanese fusion or just Japanese food in general. I don’t believe for a moment the chef and cooks in the kitchen are properly trained itamea chefs. It is outrageously overpriced for the standard and location.
